Petrochemical Plant Project, Azerbaijan
Trans Global Projects managed the transport and delivery of equipment for a High‑Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polypropylene (PP) plastic production plant and the modernisation of a main refinery in Azerbaijan. The project involved moving approximately 70,000 cbm of oversized and heavy cargo from multiple global origins via land, sea and river routes, with final delivery to Sumgait and Baku, Azerbaijan. TGP coordinated all multimodal operations, including the movement of major items such as pressure vessels and a 527 mt Diesel Hydrotreater (DHT) reactor, ensuring safe handling and schedule alignment across all phases.

SCOPE OF WORK
This scope covered the global transport of large industrial process to Azerbaijan.
For the HDPE plant, equipment was collected from various locations worldwide and shipped via the Black Sea to the project site in Sumgait, Azerbaijan. For the refinery upgrade in Baku, Azerbaijan, equipment was also collected at origin, then transported via the Black Sea and through the Russian river system before delivery to site.
The cargo comprised several heavy and oversized units. This included eleven large storage vessels, with the largest weighing 346 mt and measuring over 56 m in length. A key item was a reactor weighing 527 mt and measuring more than 32 m long.
These projects required movement of cargo mainly Italy/Europe, India, Korea and China via both land and river routes to the site at Sumgait, Azerbaijan.
